Booker T says AEW needs to impose harsher penalties for backstage incidents

On the latest episode of the Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker T spoke about the reported backstage incident last month where Britt Baker voiced her displeasure with MJF in the ladies' locker room, after which Alicia Atout, MJF's girlfriend, told him about it. MJF, who has denied the reports, reportedly confronted Baker about it in the locker room. MJF punched a wall in frustration, while Baker was fined and suspended. You can watch some highlights below:

On the reported drama with Britt Baker, MJF and Alicia Atout: “I didn't know if it was work or if they… because the damn thing is, so many people get suspended in AEW. They don't get fired. They just get suspended. What's the point of suspension? They need to start finding people who will stop making an example. You get suspended. Does that mean you're coming back? I got suspended every month in school.”

How AEW should have handled the situation: “I think suspensions can work. But I think: You have to start firing some people sooner. That's one thing I haven't heard from AEW. I've heard a few people have been fired, but I haven't heard of anyone being, let's say, fired.”

On CM Punk, the only person fired from AEW due to behind-the-scenes drama: “Punk would be the only one. And that in itself says a lot. That says a lot, as does the fact that CM Punk was the one who got fired, the most popular star they had in the company who got fired. Then again, I don't know what the situation was. I don't know what the situation was between him and Tony Khan, other than what we heard and saw, you know, it's right, the Wembley tape.”

On the need for AEW to get these things under control: “I don't know much about it, but like I said, sooner or later they have to do something to show a little more authority than just saying this isn't work when it comes to Britt Baker and MJF. MJF is… he's one of the guys. Britt Baker was literally the only female star in AEW that was really promoted as a megastar. I could be wrong.”
