Central Florida Democrats hold a “Get Out The Vote” rally in Orlando on Sunday

Democrats are convinced that the rally in Central Florida will put the state back in the running for the upcoming elections.

Two Central Florida Democrats will lead a campaign rally for local political candidates at the federal and state levels Sunday afternoon ahead of Tuesday's primary election.

US Republicans. Maxwell Alejandro Frosta Democrat from Orlando and a Florida state representative. Anna V. Eskamania Democrat, also from Orlando, are hosting the rally, which begins at 2 p.m., at Credo Conduit, 1001 Orange Ave., in Orlando.

The goal of the rally is to recruit volunteers to campaign in Central Florida neighborhoods and encourage local voters to go to the polls in Tuesday's crucial primary election. Early voting has already been underway in most Florida counties for about two weeks.

Democrats say they are trying to capitalize on the momentum from the announcement in late July that Vice President Kamala Harris would take over as the Democratic presidential candidate after the current president Joe Biden announced that he would drop out of the race and endorsed Harris. The Democratic ticket gained momentum after Harris announced his bid for governor of Minnesota. Tim Walz would be her running mate and would run for the office of Vice President in the November election.

“Florida sees Record number of volunteers and a shift in the momentum of the Harris-Walz campaign, many of these volunteers are forming coalitions to campaign for Democratic candidates at the federal and state levels, as well as candidates in nonpartisan local elections,” said a press release about Sunday's event.

Harris prepares for the Democratic National Convention which begins Monday in Chicago, Illinois.

Many Democrats believe that the switch from Biden to Harris will put Florida, where there are a million more registered Republican than Democratic voters, back in playBut the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trumpdominated Florida elections in both 2016 and his unsuccessful attempt to be re-elected in 2020.

Other Democrats who will attend the rally on Sunday afternoon include US Senate candidate and former Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-PowellOrange County Commissioner Nicole WilsonSenator from the State of Florida.
