Low-key TikToker Jools Lebron reveals she can afford a sex change thanks to a viral trend

TikToker Jools Lebron, who made the phrase “demur” (depressed) go viral, says she can now pay for her gender reassignment surgery because her phrase went viral on the platform.

Content creator Jools (joolieannie), a transgender woman, gained viral attention on TikTok in August 2024 with her satirical comments about how people should behave in public.

In a video with over 32 million views, she explained how “modest” she is about her appearance and advised always dressing at work and wearing the same accessories as you would for a job interview.

“See how I do my makeup for work? Very conservative, very mindful,” she said in the clip. “I don't come to work with a green eyelid crease. I don't look like a clown when I go to work. I don't do too much. I'm very mindful while I'm at work.”

The terms “low key” and “mindful” have since dominated social media, with people sharing their “very low key” and “very mindful” activities.

In response, Jools posted a video on August 14th in which she talked about how this viral trend has positively impacted her life and encouraged others to create their own videos.

“Maybe you should do the videos because one day I worked as a cashier on my break and made videos and now I'm flying around different countries hosting events and I'll be able to finance the rest of my gender reassignment,” she revealed.

The video has been viewed over 2.3 million times and there has been an outpouring of love and support for Jools in the comments section. “I am so happy for you,” wrote makeup artist and content creator James Charles.

“See how she encourages others to succeed? Very thoughtful, very low key, very community minded,” said another user. “Hope your transition is smooth and very low key,” commented a third.

“This is extremely thoughtful. This is EXTREMELY low-key. This is extremely deserved and earned. Good things happen to good people,” another added.
