Police shared the latest developments in the case of Pakistani actor Nimra Khan, stating that it was a “case of molestation” rather than an attempted kidnapping as the victim had claimed.

A few days ago, Khan recounted in a video statement on Instagram the horrific experience of how he narrowly escaped being “kidnapped” in front of a hotel in Phase VIII of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Karachi.

The actress, traumatized by the experience, took to her Instagram account to describe the entire incident, which she described as an “attempt to kidnap her.”

Although she had not filed an official report with the police, law enforcement officials began investigating the matter when it went viral on the Internet.

Sharing the latest developments in the investigation, the Darakhshan Sub-Divisional Police Officer on Sunday said that it was a case of harassment rather than an attempted abduction. Moreover, the investigation revealed that it was not several people but a single person who allegedly tried to “abduct” the “Ehraam-e-Junoon” actor.

The official said that two such cases were recently reported from the port city and the suspects in both cases were arrested.

Meanwhile, Khan expressed her satisfaction with the progress made by the police so far.

In a video released a few days before Independence Day, Khan raised questions about the safety of women in the country and reported on her experiences.

The “Khoob Seerat” actress said she was waiting for her car outside the hotel when “three men” tried to “kidnap her at gunpoint.”
