Detroit Lions lose WR Tre'Quan Smith to hand injury

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The competition for the back-end jobs in the Detroit Lions wide receiver room may have gotten a little more intense.

Head coach Dan Campbell said wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith suffered a hand injury in Saturday's 24-23 win over the Kansas City Chiefs that could keep him out of action “for a short period of time.”

Smith played nine snaps on Saturday and did not receive a pass. He is one of the more experienced players in a group of receivers battling for a spot on the roster behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Kalif Raymond.
