Jacksonville police release name of woman killed in shooting on Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Texas (KLTV) – Police have released the name of a woman who died of apparent gunshot wounds in Jacksonville on Saturday.

According to a Jacksonville Police Department news release, officers were called to the 400 block of Gillespie Avenue at around 2:52 a.m. for a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a woman who had apparently been shot and died. Police said they are investigating her as a homicide.

On Sunday, police released the woman's identity and said her name was Clara Deane Wilson, 29, of Jacksonville.

Jacksonville detectives, the Texas Rangers and other law enforcement officials continue to investigate this case.
