Scottsdale man allegedly shot his wife. What we know so far

A man is accused of shooting his wife in a Scottsdale home on Saturday night, authorities said.

Sergeant Allison Sempsis, a department spokeswoman, said officers were called to a home on North 128th Way around 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound and took her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Sempsis said officers arrested the man accused of shooting his wife, but did not say what might have prompted the shooting. Sempsis noted that another woman and a minor were also inside the woman's home at the time of the shooting.

Sempsis did not say whether the man, whose identity was unknown as of Sunday morning, was taken to jail or what charges might be brought against him.

“The investigation is still ongoing, but there is no danger to the surrounding community as this is an isolated case,” said Sempsis.
