Buckeye police shoot armed man after he threatened his wife and shot at officers, police say

The incident occurred on August 17 at around 11:30 p.m. near Southern Avenue and Miller Road.

“Buckeye Police received a report of a woman who said her husband had a gun and was threatening to kill her. Officers arrived on the scene. The woman was leaving the house when the suspect, a man in his 50s, came out and fired at police. A police-involved shootout ensued. The suspect then went back into the house. No officers were injured,” the police department said.

At around 1 a.m., the suspect left his home and was arrested, according to police. He was not hit in the shooting.

The man's identity has not been released, but Buckeye police believe he will go to jail.
