Arrest after shooting on 7th Street

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – An arrest has been made in connection with Saturday night's shooting in the 1500 block of 7th Street that left a man hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

At around 9:30 p.m., officers received a call that a 44-year-old man had been shot in the leg by his roommate.

When officers arrived, the shooter, 39-year-old Jamie Sandidge, had barricaded herself in her room.

While the roommate was receiving medical attention and being taken to the hospital, patrol officers, gang units, hostage negotiators and even drone officers attempted to speak with Sandidge.

After more than two hours, the SWAT team was called to speak to Sandidge.

Sandidge is currently in police custody and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
