Draymond Green's 'Failure' portrayal of LeBron James goes viral as 21-year-old's clip resurfaces

The hard work never stops, and that is also true for LeBron James, who is entering his 22nd season in the NBA. Aside from the abundance of success, what makes LeBron's run stand out is the way he accomplished it. The Ohio native was under constant pressure to succeed from day one, but just smiled at his opponents and scored one result after another. Draymond Greena 12-year veteran, has seen it first-hand all year and is still amazed at how far LeBron has come.

Recently, the Golden State Warriors C shared a post on his IG story showing the commercial for LeBron's first nationally televised game. The caption of his story read: “It just had to be the best ever to avoid being considered a failure. And it actually did that! Wow.” The promo featured outstanding names such as Wilt ChamberlainOscar Robertson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan and asked a question, “Can LeBron James take his first step toward legendary status?”

After 21 seasons, we know how that turned out. Another question also remained unanswered: “How does it feel to know that if you don't make it into the Hall of Fame, a lot of people will say you were a failure?” LeBron's answer was simple and, one might say, legendary.

“There is no pressure.”

LeBron James dominated the high school basketball scene, winning three state titles and scoring nearly 2,700 points for St. Vincent-St. Mary. Even more astonishing is the fact that LeBron entered the NBA without having been a college player. Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady And Kevin Garnett have done that too, but none of them achieved LeBron's longevity or won multiple championships (except Kobe, of course). According to Draymond, the 39-year-old had to become the greatest of all time to avoid being labeled a failure. Now that's quite a statement!

Draymond Green thinks LeBron is the greatest of all time

Draymond's admiration for LeBron James isn't just based on their business relationship. The Dubs and LeBron clashed during his time with the Cavs, where the 20-time All-Star proved his excellence every time, even though he ultimately came up short. That doesn't change Draymond's view of LeBron, as he described it on an episode of First Take.

“I think LeBron has a lot of power. As befits, he's arguably the best player of all time. If you look at his resume, he's flawless.” Draymond said of LeBron. Green further explained that it's not just the Lakers forward's brilliance on the court, but also his efforts off the court that contribute to his legacy as a player. The LeBron James Family Foundation focuses on community building and the well-being of Ohio residents.

His I PROMISE program also supports underprivileged children of Akron with scholarships and mentoring. So putting aside his accolades, which are worthy of an article of their own, it's safe to say that LeBron James is the “controversial” GOAT of the game, a status he achieved without any pressure.
