Man with links to Cleveland shooting shot dead in suspected burglary attempt

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. (WOIO) – A Cleveland man was shot Saturday during a suspected burglary, according to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP).

David Luczak, 62, pleaded guilty in connection with the shooting death of a man in a Cleveland parking lot more than 11 years ago.

Luczak eventually pleaded guilty to a charge of improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.

PSP was called to the 800 block of Mae West Road in Henry Clay Twp. shortly after 11:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a burglary.

PSP said the homeowner obtained a firearm and shot Luczak after he refused to leave the house.

According to PSP, Luczak was hit twice in the face.

Luczak was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.

Luczak is accused of burglary, trespassing and loitering.

There is no word yet on when he will appear in court.
