Manhunt for prison escapee underway in Natchitoches

NATCHITOCHES, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – Two prison escapees have been caught and a third is still on the run after three inmates escaped from custody in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana.

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office is asking 26-year-old Seankalyn Chatman to turn himself in to authorities.

Chatman is a 5'7″ black man with black hair and brown eyes. He weighs about 165 pounds. His last known address is in the 100 block of Sylvan Drive in Natchitoches.

Prior to his escape, Chatman faced numerous charges, including possession of a weapon by a person convicted of a serious crime, assault on a police officer, resisting an officer, probation violation, fleeing from an officer, drug violation, and traffic violations.

There is a heavy police presence in Natchitoches and the NPSO is asking the public to consider Chatman as dangerous. If you see Chatman, do not approach him. Instead, call 911, the NPSO at 318-357-7851 or the Natchitoches Police Department at (318) 352-8101.

Officials are also asking all Natchitoches residents living in the search area to remove keys from their vehicles and keep doors to buildings locked.
