Man arrested after Delta flight returns from Dublin to Boston

A Delta flight from Boston's Logan Airport to Dublin, Ireland, was forced to return to Boston early Sunday morning due to an onboard disturbance. According to Massachusetts State Police, Delta Air Lines requested assistance from officers at Terminal E for Flight 154, which was returning to Logan, because an unruly passenger had urinated on another passenger shortly after takeoff. Massachusetts State Police officers from Troop F and Customs and Border Protection personnel boarded the plane and identified the suspect as 40-year-old Gosder Cherilus of Wakefield. State police say Cherilus became angry and uncooperative when officers verbally ordered him to exit the plane. Officers eventually escorted Cherilus off the plane to the jetway, where he was taken into custody. “Delta has zero tolerance for unlawful conduct and will cooperate with law enforcement to this end.” “We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travel,” a Delta spokesperson said in a statement to Newscenter 5. Passengers who were on board the canceled flight continued on to Dublin on another flight later Sunday.Cherilus is a former Boston College football player and was selected in the eighth round of the 2008 NFL Draft.Massachusetts State Police have charged Cherilus with disorderly conduct and interference with flight crew. He is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on Monday morning.

Massachusetts State Police Troop F officers and Customs and Border Patrol agents entered the aircraft and identified the suspect as 40-year-old Gosder Cherilus of Wakefield. Massachusetts State Police have charged Cherilus with disturbing the peace and interfering with flight crew. He is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on Monday morning.
