20-year-old man charged with murder of woman and sexual abuse of corpse in Dartford

A man is to appear in court charged with murder and sexual assault with a corpse after a woman was stabbed to death in Kent.

Ernestas Juska, 20, of Dartford, was arrested after a disturbance was reported at a house on Henderson Drive in Temple Hill at 6.50am on Saturday.

Kent Police attended the property where a 39-year-old woman was found with stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

While police cordoned off the streets, forensic officers were seen coming out of a terraced house in the estate.

Jim Dickson, MP for Dartford, said on Saturday: “My thoughts are with the victim and everyone affected by this tragic incident in Temple Hill.

“I would like to thank the police for their swift response and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact them.”

A Kent Police spokesman said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has laid charges of murder against Ernestas Juska, of Henderson Drive, Dartford.

“The 20-year-old is also accused of committing a sexual offence against a deceased woman. He remains in custody and will appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court on Monday 19 August.”

Councillor Kelly Grehan for Temple Hill said on Facebook: “Police charged a man with murder yesterday after arresting him in Henderson Drive.”

“I ask people to avoid speculation about what happened. I know many of us are truly devastated. The churches are all open for those who wish to lay candles.

“I would also like to encourage anyone in need to get help. The Samaritans can be reached on the free number 116 123. My thoughts are with the victim and all those affected.”
