Maine police investigate death in Waterville

Waterville Police are being assisted by Maine State Police in their death investigation.

What do we know about the deceased?

The name of the deceased has not been released and authorities are still working to confirm the cause of death.

Where did it happen?

It was just before 8:30 on Sunday morning when Waterville Police requested assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit in investigating a possible suspicious death. The deceased was found at 119 Cool Street in Waterville.

Is the public in danger?

Shannon Moss, spokeswoman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said the body was taken to the office of the chief medical examiner for an autopsy, which will be conducted Monday. The chief medical examiner will attempt to determine the person's cause and manner of death.

According to official information, there is no danger to the population.
