Packaging Manager

A Packaging Manager is responsible for directing and participating in all aspects of the packaging processes, as well as administrative and organizational duties of this department. This employee must be a hardworking, responsible and self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing in the industry. The candidate must be someone who leads by example, follows procedures and policies, is proactive and helps maintain the highest standards of performance among employees in the packaging department. The candidate must be willing to be flexible in their schedule and work long hours when necessary to complete projects and meet production schedules. The candidate should also be an outgoing individual who is comfortable representing the brewery in public on occasion. Natural leadership skills, integrity, loyalty and a good sense of humor are all factors when hiring our employees.

Tasks

•Successful operation of all beer bottling systems at FBB

• Follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all operations

•Maintain Funky Buddha quality standards

• Perform CIP on all filling lines using automated and manual systems

•Perform or support preventive maintenance (PM) on all packaging equipment according to PM schedule

•Troubleshooting and assistance in repairing all equipment related to packaging operations

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and company guidelines

•Ability to follow instructions and meet business requirements as needed based on daily target changes

•Must be able to perform most tasks with minimal supervision

•You must be able to assist management in ensuring that all team breaks and lunches comply with established company policies.

• Inform management of updates and changes as needed

• Log and send daily production reports

• Conduct or supervise all training for new packaging employees

•Support in the development of SOPs

•Work on improving processes based on efficiency and minimal product loss

•Forklift operation

•Support in monitoring and recording the inventory of packaging raw materials

•Support in ordering packaging raw materials

• Maintain and complete a running list of special tasks in a timely manner and provide regular progress reports to your supervisor.

•Must always ensure compliance with the brewery's rules and policies and encourage others to do so through example and vigilance

•Other assigned tasks

Minimum requirements

• Flexible working hours: day, night, late, holiday and weekend shifts

•Experience in a fast-paced production environment

•The ability to work independently and with others

•2+ years experience on a beverage packaging line

•2+ years experience with filling and conveying systems

•Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point

•A great passion for beer and beer quality

•First-class knowledge of packaging processes

Preferred qualifications

•Understanding of quality assurance (QA) methods and techniques, laboratory operations and basic knowledge of chemistry and biology

•Previous experience in packaging, filling and bottling

•Mechanical experience and talent

• Forklift operation or certification

Physical requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable adjustments may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

•Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, crawl

•Heavy physical work, including climbing stairs, climbing into tanks, pulling hoses, etc.

•Willingness to work in wet, hot and cold conditions

• Ready to work in permanently noisy environments

• Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
