Beaumont, Texas man arrested on drug charges August 15 – The Atmore Advance

According to Atmore police, a Beaumont, Texas man was arrested on August 15 for drug possession.

Police spokesman Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a news release that 43-year-old Jose Estrada was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said the arrest occurred after an APD patrol officer noticed a vehicle parked on the side of Highway 21 around 4:25 a.m. on the day of the arrest.

McMann said when the officer stopped and checked the vehicle, he noticed that the driver (Estrada) was unconscious and the vehicle's engine was still running.

“The officer woke the driver after several attempts and noticed a glass pipe in Estrada's lap as he exited the vehicle,” McMann said. “The pipe had crystal-like residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Officers also discovered a small amount of methamphetamine in the vehicle.”
