Former stable owner charged with rape and animal cruelty released on bail of over one million dollars

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – Days after a Rutherford County judge denied a request for reduced bail for the former stable owner who faces a slew of rape and animal cruelty charges, Jason Lancaster was released from jail on bail.

Lancaster was released from the Rutherford County Jail on Monday on $1,020,000 bail.

Last week, Lancaster's lawyers asked for a reduction in their client's bail in a Rutherford County courtroom. The request was denied.

Lancaster was charged in September 2023 with two counts of rape, three counts of rape of a juvenile by an authority figure, three counts of sexual assault by an authority figure, bribery of a witness and stalking.

After new charges were filed on November 8, Lancaster was charged with four additional counts of rape of a minor by an authority figure, four counts of sexual abuse by an authority figure and nine counts of cruelty to animals.

Lancaster is the former owner of Pinnacle Stables in Christiana, Tennessee. The investigation into his rape allegations resulted in the discovery of numerous horses at the facility that required immediate medical and nutritional attention. 20 horses were removed from the stables for treatment.
