BCSO: Shooting in Converse is considered a murder-suicide with two dead

The names of the deceased were not published.

SAN ANTONIO – We're learning more about a tragic incident that left two people dead in the Converse area Saturday afternoon.

Bexar County officials responding to a noise complaint found the couple dead, reportedly from multiple gunshot wounds.

Some neighbors and officials said Monday they did not know much about the man and woman who lived in the Quarter Moon home because they kept a low profile until several shots were fired.

The dispatchers initially informed the officers that at the time of the first call for help, they assumed that a person was already dead.

“Both dead people have gunshot wounds,” said Bexar County Sheriff’s Captain Augustin Pruneda.

Local investigators said they were treating the case as a homicide, but the sheriff's office is now classifying the incident as a murder-suicide.

The verdict will not become final until the coroner has established the identity of the deceased and determined the cause and manner of death. However, on Monday afternoon it was confirmed that, based on preliminary identifications, the deceased were a 62-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman.

“They are in a relationship with each other. We cannot confirm the nature of the relationship at this time,” Pruneda said.
