3 teens charged in fatal shooting in Hernando County

All three suspects are being held without bail.

SPRING HILL, Fla. – Three teenagers are behind bars after police link them to the death of a 16-year-old boy in Spring Hill.

Hernando County Sheriff's Office officials said they were called to a Publix in Mariner Commons because a shooting was reported near the area.

When investigators arrived, they said they found several victims around a vehicle parked near the store.

According to the sheriff's office, five teenage boys were in a vehicle heading to Publix following a shooting at Mariner's Cay Apartments, near Mariner Boulevard and Northcliffe Boulevard.

When the teens entered the apartment complex, they came under fire, so they immediately left the complex and drove to Mariner Commons. One of the teens then went to Publix to ask for help, according to a news release from the HCSO.

According to officials, three of the five juveniles in the vehicle suffered gunshot wounds. One of them, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Two other teenagers, aged 15 and 17, were also taken to a local hospital, but authorities expect them to make a full recovery.

Authorities later identified the suspects as 18-year-old Tarian Rush, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old. 10 Tampa Bay is not identifying the minors because of their age.

Investigators believe the shooting was the result of a feud between some of the teenagers who had been involved in a physical altercation shortly before.

Rush is charged with first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The 17-year-old suspect is accused of having committed premeditated murder and of having aided and abetted the crime.

The 15-year-old is accused of aiding and abetting premeditated murder.

Rush and the two juveniles were taken to the Hernando County Detention Center. Rush is being held without bail, while the two minors were later taken to the Ocala Juvenile Detention Center and are also being held without bail.
