A San Bernardino man was arrested for sex crimes against children after he was caught unknowingly chatting online with an undercover police officer.

Robert Anthony Rodriguez, 29, was arrested Monday after detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department completed their investigation, the department said in a statement.

“During the operation, Robert Anthony Rodriguez responded to a post by an undercover investigator from the Child Crimes Unit on an anonymous chat site,” the SBSD statement said. “Rodriguez began a conversation with the investigator, who posed as a 13-year-old girl.”

Investigators say that during the chat, Rodriguez arranged for communication to continue outside of the original chat platform on a website where he appeared under the username “909goodtimesonly.”

At some point, Rodriguez arranged a meeting with the undercover agent to “perform sexual acts,” her statement said.

He was arrested and charged with distribution of harmful substances to a minor, solicitation of a minor for lewd purposes and arranging to meet a minor for the purpose of committing a sex crime. He is being held on $40 bail.

Due to the nature of the crime, investigators believe there may be additional victims. They ask anyone with more information to contact them at (909) 890-4904.
