Former Detroit Lions player allegedly urinated on an airplane passenger

Boston – Gosder Cherilus, a first-round pick of the Lions in 2008, was arrested on a flight from Boston Logan International Airport for allegedly urinating on another passenger.

The Delta flight was en route to Dublin over the weekend. About an hour after departure, the plane had to return to Logan Airport.

Officers ordered Cherilus to exit the plane, but police said he was uncooperative. He was arrested for disturbing the peace and disturbing the flight crew.

The police report states that he was drunk when he boarded the plane and allegedly urinated on an elderly passenger.

The woman, Connee Bush, said she had no idea who the former NFL player was until he appeared in court on Monday and pleaded not guilty.

In a statement to NBC10 Boston, Delta Airlines said: “Delta has a zero-tolerance policy toward unlawful conduct and will cooperate with law enforcement authorities to that end.”

Cherilus did not answer any questions after the hearing, but explained in a post on “X” that he “took a sleeping pill that I do not normally take, which led to behavior that is not in keeping with my character.” He then apologized to the passengers and crew.

He is expected back in court on October 11.
