Taylor Swift's viral moments on UK Eras Tour as she says goodbye to London

Taylor Swift has taken Britain by storm with her The Eras tour and will now bid farewell to London with her final performance on Tuesday. After that, Swift will fly off to continue her tour in Canada.

She's a singing superstar, so it's no surprise that Swift's highly anticipated performances over the past two months have been the talk of the town. People have been talking not only about the stars who shared the stage with her, but also the celebrities in the audience.

From backstage secrets to jaw-dropping performances, we take a look at the moments from Swift's UK Eras tour this summer that went viral.

This week, it was reported that Swift and her mother Andrea showed incredible kindness when they hosted victims of the Southport stabbing backstage at the second London leg of the Eras Tour.

Three young girls were killed in a knife attack at a Taylor Swift dance class in Southport, Merseyside, in late July. Six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar lost their lives. The funeral of six-year-old Bebe King took place last week.

Teenager Axel Rudakubana, now 18, who was born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents, has been charged with three counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder.

Swift hasn't admitted to the stabbings onstage, but behind the scenes she did something even more special. The singing superstar reportedly made the girls' dreams come true by welcoming them and posing for photos with a mother and her two daughters backstage at her Eras tour.

Two people who have supported Swift from the beginning are her parents Scott and Andrea, who split in 2011. So it's no surprise that an emotional moment involving them all captured the hearts of audiences.

After recently singing “Champagne Problems” on stage in London, Swift received a standing ovation from the audience and then made an emotional confession about her parents, both of whom were watching that evening.

“I guarantee my parents just recorded this on their phones,” she said at Wembley Stadium. “So from now on, whenever I have a really sad or bad day, not only will I watch the video in my head, but I will relive that moment many times. Thank you so much for doing that for us.”

There were some big surprises this summer too. Swift invited her long-time friend Ed Sheeran to perform a duet on stage at London's Wembley Stadium. They thrilled their fans with a mashup of their early duets Everything Has Changed and End Game as well as Sheeran's hit Thinking Out Loud.

The Speak Now star celebrated their friendship with a sweet performance. She said: “He's one of my best friends in the world, so much so that I consider him a second brother… We were on the Red Tour together. Every time I do the Red part of that show, I think of the memories we created.”

She added: “And now he's someone who plays Wembley every week. It's a daily routine for him. And he works so hard, and he's on tour right now and he's probably so tired. But he wanted to come and play for you and do this for all of us, so give it up for Ed Sheeran.”

Right at the start of Swift's tour, she unfortunately went viral for all the wrong reasons. As seen in the video above, the singer shook her hips in a clip shared to social media by TikTok user @harryalex98. The superstar shook her hips and wiggled mid-performance onstage at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in a gold fringed minidress.

Among those who mocked the star was Lilly Becker, who commented: “God bless her.” It was reported that Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse responded to her comment with laughing emojis. However, Swift was undeterred and continued to delight her fans across the UK.

Another big topic of conversation during Swift's UK tour was her lover Travis Kelce, who stole the show at Swift's Wembley concert in June. The NFL star looked impressive in tails and a tuxedo, and looked good to boot.

For the first time, Swift invited her boyfriend to perform on stage together. There were some jaw-dropping moments for fans, including when Kelce took Swift in his arms and carried her across the stage.

British actor Hugh Grant responded hilariously, tweeting: “Dear @taylorswift13 you have an incredible show, a fantastic and very welcoming team and an excellent if enormous boyfriend (#tequilashots.). Thank you from an ageing London boy, his wife and an enthusiastic 8 year old #halfgirlhalfbracelet.”

It’s safe to say that we were impressed too!

Backstage, Swift mingled with the royals and also caused a stir. She met Prince William, whom she met 11 years ago at a charity event, as well as his eldest children Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

They all took a selfie together – including Swift's lover Kelce. Swift shared the special moment with the rest of the world on her Instagram. “Happy birthday M8! The London shows are off to a great start @princeandprincessofwales,” she wrote on Instagram.

The royals aren't the only Swifties who are causing surprises. Tom Cruise is apparently one too. The action man showed that he's casually cool when he exchanged friendship bracelets with his fans – which the singer has brought back into fashion.

He's not the only celebrity to turn heads at the shows. Sir Paul McCartney, who is close friends with Swift, was also seen dancing and having fun with fans in the crowd.

It's cruel that summer is over.
