Incident at Moshannon Valley Ice Processing Center

We have a breaking story from Clearfield County this afternoon.

An emergency was reported at the immigration detention center, where two inmates were transported to local hospitals, according to county officials.

We are currently working to find out more. What we do know is that multiple rescue crews were dispatched to the Moshannon Valley Ice Processing Center.

Hope Fire Company officials told us this evening that half a dozen crews from throughout the Philipsburg area were called to the facility.

They also say that at least one rescue helicopter was called to the scene. We have learned that the two occupants do not appear to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

The Immigration Detention Center is the site of the former Mo Valley Prison, which can house more than 1,000 migrants.

We have reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and State Police, who told us they are working to provide more information.

The district's emergency call center said it was not allowed to release any further information about the incident at this time.

Stay with us as we continue to learn more.
