Cleveland man charged with murder after shooting in the Flats

CLEVELAND – Aaron Mays, a 33-year-old Cleveland man, was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting over the weekend in the Flats.

Cleveland police told 3News that Mays was arrested and charged with murder.

He was arraigned Monday in Cleveland City Court, where bail was set at $500,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 27.

The fatal shooting occurred Saturday night in The Flats. A Cleveland police officer on the scene near Riverbed Street and Elm Street confirmed to 3News that one victim died in the shooting.

3News teams discovered up to 60 forensic markers at the crime scene. According to police, around 20 cartridge cases were seized.
