Stephen Curry celebrated his “good night” after making the last of four three-point shots in the final three minutes of the United States national basketball team's 98-87 victory over host nation France at the Summer Olympics.

Now Curry has filed trademark applications for “nuit, nuit” (French for “night, night”) in Europe and the United States.

Trademark attorney Josh Gerben, founder of Gerben IP, broke the news and provided further background.

Steph Curry has filed trademark applications in the EU and the US to protect the following products:

“Steph Curry's company SC30 has filed a trademark for the phrase “Nuit. Nuit,” which he and his team cleverly introduced after Curry helped the U.S. team defeat France in the men's basketball gold medal game at the Paris Olympics earlier this month.

“Curry registered the expression as a trademark in Europe on August 14 and in the United States on August 19.

“The US filing states that the intention is to use the phrase on all clothing. Curry will benefit from being the first to file the phrase and not having to wait in line behind anyone else.”

Curry was spotted wearing a “Nuit, Nuit” hoodie shortly after the iconic three-pointer in which he looped over Nicolas Batum and Fournier.

Art director and designer Mike Fogg, who designed the hoodie, gave further insight and mentioned that this story was created back in June.

“WELL. WELL.”
It is impossible to describe. In June I had the incredible opportunity to create some bespoke clothing designs for
@StephenCurry30 for this year's Olympic Games in Paris, a dream.

Of course, it's completely understandable that SC30 would trademark the phrase, but now Curry can enjoy the iconic moment as the four-time NBA champion looks forward to his 16th professional season.
