A woman was taken to hospital after the accident in Hospers on Monday

Hospers, Iowa – A woman was hospitalized following an accident in Hospers on Monday, August 19.

The Sioux County Sheriff's Office reports that just before 3:30 p.m., 61-year-old Cheryl Scholten of Alton was driving a 2016 Ford Flex southbound on Highway 60 on the east side of Hospers. They report that 26-year-old Hannah Sailor was driving a 2017 Kia Sportage eastbound on 400th Street. Sailor drove eastbound into the intersection at Highway 60 and the vehicles collided.

The Hospers ambulance took Sailor to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.

Each vehicle sustained approximately $7,500 in damage.

The sailor was charged with ignoring the right of way at a stop sign.

The sheriff's office reports that the Iowa State Patrol, Hospers Fire Department, Hospers EMS and Granville EMS assisted in responding to the accident.
