Kirk Cousins left Kyle Pitts with viral hospital pass

The Atlanta Falcons The offensive will look very different in 2024 and Kyle Pitts can finally reach its full potential when Kirk Cousins don't kill him first. There was a moment at training camp on Monday that went viral on social media for all the wrong reasons.

Thank God it was just practice!!

Pitts was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he burst onto the scene with 1,026 receiving yards on 68 catches but caught just one touchdown. And then he took two major regressions in 2022 and 2023, failing to surpass the 700-yard mark in either year. His role on offense didn't put him in the best position to succeed.

Due to Pitts' struggles and a disappointing losing record, owner Arthur Blank has cleaned up. The entire coaching staff is gone. Zac Robinson was hired to run the offense after spending two years as passing game coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams.

The arrival of Cousins also represents a huge improvement over Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke – at least on paper.

Kyle Pitts should be used more in Robinson's offense and Cousins should be able to pass the ball to him. Both were seen at Monday's practice. Atlanta released a video of its star tight end catching a pass from his quarterback.

There was only one problem…

If the exact same scenario had happened in a real game, the defender would have sent him to the hospital. Kirk Cousins (or whoever threw the ball) let Pitts down and put him in a position where he could be blown up in the air!

Cornerback AJ Terrell had to stop at the last second to avoid a catastrophic collision.

Well caught? Yes. Well thrown? Well-thrown? No. Skillful throw? No.

Pitts would have seen the light by just a few centimeters!
