Prosecutors review case against former Blue Springs School Board president and pastor

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – The case against a well-known member of the Blue Springs community is now in the hands of the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.

Blue Springs police said they have turned over evidence in the Bobby Hawk case. The district attorney's office said it is working on the case. The district attorney's office will ultimately decide whether to press charges against the former school board president and pastor.

A group of women announced last month that they plan to sue Hawk, claiming that Hawk sought inappropriate relationships with each of them. The lawsuit has not yet been filed.

Hawk resigned from his elected position on the Blue Springs Board of Education on June 19 after the allegations became public. A day later, Epic Church KC announced that its board had placed Hawk, the church's senior pastor, on leave pending further review. Hawk later resigned from the church.

Blue Springs police said the agency began investigating Hawk on June 20. Since then, investigators say several other people have spoken to police about the former pastor.

Hawk has not publicly commented on the allegations or his decision to resign from the Blue Springs School Board.
