Cyclist hit and killed by passenger train in Oconomowoc

A bicyclist was struck by an Amtrak passenger train in Oconomowoc on Tuesday afternoon. It happened around 1:20 p.m. at the railroad crossing in the 200 block of Silver Lake Street. Oconomowoc police said the person was pronounced dead at the scene. No one on the train reported injuries, police said. Railroad crossings at South Silver Lake Street, South Cross Street, South Main Street and South Worthington Street will remain closed for several hours. Police are asking riders to use alternate routes. Train 1333 was delayed about three hours by the incident, which also caused train 8/28 to be delayed about 90 minutes. Train 8/28 runs daily from Seattle and Portland to Chicago, Amtrak said.

The incident delayed train 1333 about three hours, which also caused a delay of about 90 minutes for train 8/28. Train 8/28 runs daily from Seattle and Portland to Chicago, Amtrak said.
