Search for suspected shooter in fatal shooting on Covington Highway escalates

DEKALB COUNTY, Georgia. – The manhunt is on for the gunman who killed a 25-year-old man in the parking lot of a store on Covington Highway.

On the afternoon of August 15, officers were called to the Family Dollar at 7042 Covington Highway.

According to DeKalb County police, a man was found with at least one gunshot wound and taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

On Tuesday, investigators released two surveillance images showing the suspected shooter fleeing the scene.

Police are also looking for a witness who left the scene before investigators could speak to him.
