Police respond to shooting in McEvoy Park

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Police from three agencies responded to a shooting in McEvoy Park on Tuesday.

According to police, the shooting occurred about 300 feet from a football practice.

Officers from Cincinnati, Springfield Township and Forest Park arrived and began treating the victim and searching for the suspect.

The male victim was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Police cordoned off the part of the park where the shooting took place and had sniffer dogs search the edge of the forest and the area surrounding the park.

A neighbor said she didn't hear any gunshots but saw cars driving away from the park and then heard sirens. She said most of the residents near the park are elderly and most are retired.
