Presnel Kimpembe suffers another injury setback

Presnel Kimpembe (29), who has not played a football match for 18 months, has suffered another injury setback that is expected to keep him out of action until after the upcoming international break.

Kimpembe has not played a game since February 2023, when he suffered an ankle injury that required surgery. The Frenchman then returned to first-team training in December 2023 and his return from the Achilles tendon rupture seemed to be getting closer. However, he did not feel well and opted for another operation in January.

In the meantime, Kimpembe’s contract was running out. Determined not to lose him for nothing, The Parisians extended his contract until 2026. Reading between the lines, the contract length may have indicated a lack of confidence in Kimpembe's fitness.

However, the French international seemed to be on the verge of a return. Until another setback occurred. As reported The team, The centre-back continues to train separately after suffering a new muscle injury. The latest injury, which is unrelated to his Achilles problem, will likely keep him out of action until the upcoming international break in early September, as PSG do not want to take any risks.
