3 injured in nighttime shooting in Everett; suspect still at large

A man who lives nearby said he was awakened by the shooting and was later informed by police that his car had bullet holes in it.

EVERETT, Washington – Three people were injured in a shooting that occurred overnight in south Everett.

All three victims are being treated at a local hospital.

Police responded to reports of a shooting Tuesday night around 11:15 p.m. at 805 W Casino Rd.

Police dogs and a helicopter helped search for a suspect but were unable to locate anyone. Part of Casino Road was closed for several hours during the initial investigation.

Isreal Smith, who lives near the crime scene, was awakened by the gunshots.

“I was actually sleeping and then I heard the gunshots, fell to the floor and heard a huge commotion,” Smith said. “It was pretty crazy.”

Police arrived to investigate the shooting and asked residents to stay in their homes, Smith said. They also told him that his car had several bullet holes.

“There is madness in this area,” Smith said.

Smith said he has heard of a few shootings in recent months, but never one so close to his home.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
