Hamas' “Rafah Brigade” was defeated; Gallant says IDF troops are “fighting the terrorist militia.”

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant visited soldiers in the Philidelphi Corridor on Wednesday and announced the defeat of the Rafah Brigade.

“The most important thing is to remember and stick to the goals of the war,” he told the soldiers. “The Rafah Brigade was defeated, most of the tunnels in the Philadelphia Corridor are channels dug above the surface with construction equipment and covered with earth.”

He met with forces from the 162nd Division operating in the Rafah area of ​​the southern Gaza Strip.

Gallant conducted a situation assessment with Lt. Col. Yitzhak (Itzik) Cohen, the division commander, as well as Nahal Brigade Commander Lt. Col. Yair Zuckerman, and other key commanders involved in operations in the southern Gaza Strip.

Gallant received an overview of the operational activities that led to the defeat of the Rafah Brigade, with over 150 tunnels destroyed in the area.

“Look, I came here first of all to express my great appreciation,” Gallant told the soldiers. “The 162nd Division and its brigades … are fighting like lions. The Rafah Brigade was defeated, the enemy's Rafah Brigade was defeated by the 162nd Division.”
