2-year-old killed in tram crash in Ocean City – NBC4 Washington

A toddler was struck and killed by a streetcar on the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland, on Tuesday evening.

According to police, the 2-year-old boy was crossing the Promenade tram stop near Dorchester Street when he was struck by a southbound tram at 8:14 p.m. It was initially unclear what caused the accident.

Ocean City EMS pronounced him dead at the scene of the accident. Both tram drivers remained on site.

The Ocean City Traffic Safety Department is currently investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact PFC Panitch at [email protected].
