3 Meridian inmates released from Kemper Neshoba Correctional Facility

MERIDIAN, Mississippi (WTOK) – On Tuesday, News 11 published an article about the City of Meridian and its delinquency to the Kemper Neshoba Correctional Facility.

Kemper County Sheriff Moore confirmed to News 11 that up to $40,000 in housing for Meridian Police Department inmates had not been paid to the facility.

The Meridian Police Chief subsequently issued a statement regarding the payments. To read the Chief's full statement, click here.

About ten minutes before the statement was released, the three were released from Kemper Neshoba Correctional Facility.

News 11 confirmed that the three were identified as Christopher Lee Harris, Angel Parker and David Williams.

WTOK reached out to the City of Meridian to ask questions such as whether the inmates were able to be released on bail and where they were transported if they were not.

At the time of this update, News 11 has not received any information from the city.
