REPORT. AND DEVELOPED TONIGHT. HORRIBLE MOMENTS FOR CHILDREN AFTER A SCHOOL BUS RUN OFF THE ROAD AND OVERLAYED ON ITS SIDE. AT LEAST 18 BOONE COUNTY STUDENTS WERE ON BOARD. THIS ALL HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER FOUR THIS AFTERNOON ON RIVER ROAD NEAR NORTH BEND ROAD IN HEBRON. WLWT NEWS FIVE'S DAISY KERSHAW REPORTED LIVE FROM BOONE COUNTY WITH MORE ON THIS INVESTIGATION. DAISY. CHRIS. YES, MORE THAN A DOZEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS WERE ON BOARD THAT BUS. A PARENT I TALKED TO TONIGHT OFF CAMERA TOLD ME THIS WAS A REALLY HORRIBLE SITUATION FOR THE CHILDREN. LUCKY, FIRST RESPONDERS ON THE SCENE SAY, NO ONE WAS INJURED. ACCIDENT WITH EXTRICATION. IT'S A SCHOOL BUS THAT OVERLOOKS ON ITS SIDE. A BOONE COUNTY SCHOOL BUS FULL OF CHILDREN CRASHES ON RIVER ROAD IN HEBRON. THE BUS, WHICH OVERLOOKS ON ITS SIDE, REMAINS STUCK IN A DITCH WITH 18 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS INSIDE AND SHAKED. UNKNOWN HOW MANY INJURED STUDENTS WERE ON BOARD AT THE TIME? DISPOSITIONS FROM THE BOONE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE CONFIRMS THAT FIREMEN WERE CALLED TO THE CRASH AND ARE SEARCHING FOR INJURIES. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT CONFIRMS THAT NO ONE WAS INJURED. AND TO GET THESE CHILDREN, WE WILL BE HELDING A REUNION AT NORTH POINT ELEMENTARY. HOWEVER, ONE PARENT TELLS US THE CHILDREN WERE TERRIBLE. THIS NARROW, CROSSY ROAD WAS CLOSED FOR SEVERAL HOURS AS TEAMS WORKED TO PULL THE BUS AWAY FROM THE BUSHES WHICH HAD BROKEN PIECES HANGING ON THE SIDE AND THE WINDOWS WERE SHATTERED. THE BOONE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT FIRST BELIEVED THE BUS WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER CAR AND THAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. BUT THE DISTRICT AND DEPUTY ON THE SCENE LATER INFORMED US AND SAID THE BUS WAS THE ONLY VEHICLE INVOLVED. AT THIS TIME THE BOONE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE IS CONTINUING TO INVESTIGATE WHAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. LIVE COVERAGE TODAY

Emergency crews responded to a school bus accident in Boone County on Wednesday afternoon. It occurred around 4:15 p.m. on River Road, near North Bend Road in Hebron. According to Boone County Schools, 18 students were on the bus when it plunged into a ditch. All students on the bus were elementary school age, a spokesperson confirmed. No students were injured in the accident. All parents of students on the bus have been notified of the accident. Police have not yet confirmed the cause of the accident.

BOONE COUNTY, Kentucky —

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of an accident involving a school bus in Boone County on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. on River Road, near North Bend Road in Hebron.

According to Boone County Schools, 18 students were on board the bus when it crashed into a ditch. A spokesperson confirmed that all of the students were elementary school age.

No student was injured in the accident. All parents of the students on the bus were informed about the accident.

Police have not yet confirmed the cause of the accident.
