Burton man sentenced to 40 years in prison for child sex crimes | Crime

GENESEE COUNTY, Michigan (WJRT) – A Burton man was sentenced Tuesday to 40 years in federal prison for sexual exploitation of children.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced that 42-year-old Nicholas Dunn was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

After his prison sentence, Dunn was sentenced to five years probation.

According to the Justice Department, a Detroit-based Department of Homeland Security investigator working undercover online observed co-defendant Preston Creed-Bohm posting an image of child pornography. Creed-Bohm also told the investigator how he had sexually abused two minors.

Immediately afterwards, he was arrested by the police and his electronic devices were searched.

During their search, they discovered that Dunn had created one of the child pornography images using his cell phone.

Dunn's apartment, which he shared with Joshua Hippensteel, was subsequently searched by police.

The Justice Department found that Dunn sexually abused five minors. They added that he molested the children, engaged in sexual acts, and produced child pornography. Witnesses also told police that Dunn possessed and viewed child pornography obtained over the Internet.

Creed-Bohm and Hippensteel were also charged with sexual exploitation of minors. Creed-Bohm is also accused of distributing and possessing child pornography.

Both men still face charges.
