Bears – Chiefs injury report for Week 3 of NFL preseason: Brown, Edwards-Helaire and Pickens

The Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears play their last preseason game on Thursday evening. Kickoff is at 8:20 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium. Although both teams are benching their starters, this game is important because the NFL requires all teams to trim their rosters to 53 players by Tuesday afternoon. That means this game could decide the future of several players on the Chiefs and Bears.

The Chiefs hope to continue the dominant defense of last season, but Injuries have made it difficult to judge some of the newcomers. In fact, the same can be said about the Bears, who may have just had to bench one of their potential edge rushers.

Here is the injury report for the Bears and Chiefs ahead of their final NFL preseason game tonight.

Kansas City Chiefs injury report

The Chiefs are dealing with some worrying injuries. Wide Receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was injured at the season opener with a sternoclavicular injury that will keep him out of action for at least four to six weeks. He was one of their key offseason additions, so not having him on the field is a big loss. He should be back around Week 2 of the regular season.

Run back Clyde Edwards-Helaire suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. Helaire will likely be the Chiefs' RB2 behind Isiah Pacheco. Edwards-Helaire has missed several training camps and the last preseason game against the Lions because of this. He is listed as ill on the official injury report.

Perhaps most frustrating are the injuries on defense, as the Chiefs are having a difficult time deciding who to cut and who to keep and how to handle the depth at those positions. Cornerback Joshua Williams is fighting for a place in the starting eleven but missed training on Tuesday due to a thigh injuryDefensive attack Chris Jones is struggling with a shoulder injury since the beginning of this month and has not yet played in the preseason.
