Gasoline prices in Kansas and the rest of the country are falling

TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) – Gasoline prices are falling in Kansas and the rest of the country.

According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline was $3.38 as of Thursday morning, down 6 cents from $3.44 a week ago, 12 cents from $3.50 a week ago and 47 cents from $3.85 a year ago.

In Kansas, prices were even cheaper, says AAA.

On Thursday, a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Kansas cost an average of $3.10, down 4 cents from $3.14 a week ago, 5 cents from $3.15 a month ago and 51 cents from $3.61 a year ago.

Meanwhile, diesel prices have also been declining in recent weeks. According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of diesel was $3.72 as of Thursday morning, 4 cents less than a week ago ($3.76), 10 cents less than a month ago ($3.82) and 62 cents less than a year ago ($4.34).

According to GasBuddy.com, unleaded gasoline prices in Topeka ranged from $2.84 to $3.19 per gallon on Thursday.

According to GasBuddy.com, diesel fuel in Topeka cost between $3.39 and $3.84 per gallon Thursday morning.
