The long-awaited chapter 1124 of One Piece is titled “Best Friend.” At the end of the previous chapter, Luffy sailed to Elbaf with significant support from the giants as the Egghead arc seemingly came to an end. With the Straw Hats celebrating the start of their journey with the giants in the last chapter, it is expected that this party will continue in chapter 1124 as well.

In addition to the Straw Hats, Chapter 1124 will also feature recurring characters Vivi and Wapol. They are at the World Economy newspaper headquarters with Big News Morgans. Morgans prepares to write headlines to be published in the world. However, he is hindered by Vivi, who objects to the headlines – “Law Vs. Blackbeard,” “Kid Vs. Red Hair,” and “Straw Hat Murders Vegapunk.” Wapol tries to break the two apart, while Morgans says that his era is beginning while the world is about to burn down.

On the other hand, Sentomaru escapes Egghead Island in a small boat with tears in his eyes. Kizaru, who is said to be the only awake marine in Egghead, answers a call from Akainu and engages in conversation. He then accuses Kizaru of doing a “bad job” when Kizaru suddenly asks Akainu if he has ever killed a best friend, causing him to become emotional. Fans will get to see a flashback of the friendship between Kizaru and his late friend Dr. Vegapunk.

The focus of the chapter turns to the Elbaf ship, where the Straw Hats talk to Lilith. They tell her about the events on Egghead when she wakes up. Usopp reveals that she is the only Vegapunk they were able to save, while Lilith admits that she knows everything. Sanji and the others wonder how she knows when Lilith suddenly starts crying and becomes hungry.

Later, Brook claims that the mood on the ship is a bit sad. Luffy is also depressed because he couldn't save the Apple Man. Lilith tries to motivate Luffy, saying that he fulfilled his promise by saving her and he doesn't have to stay sad. This instantly makes Luffy happy and the Straw Hats break out into a party. The giants later play a message from Vegapunk. In the message, he claims that whoever finds One Piece will rule the world. Upon hearing this, Luffy suggests that he will become the King of the Pirates.

One Piece Chapter 1124 will be released in the US on Sunday, August 25th at 11am ET/10am CT/8am PT. And the series will take a break next week.
