New Brunswick runs a free weekday summer camp called Play SAFE (Summer Activities For Everyone) for city children ages 6 to 12; it offers daily supervised camp activities and also a free meal through the federal Summer Food Service Program, MyCentralJersey reported.

Play SAFE provides free childcare, field trips, sports, arts & crafts and more to children in New Brunswick's inner cities, almost all of whom come from low-income and/or illegal families.
