How to navigate the tight job market

As recent data shows, the job market is cooling down. So it's no surprise that it's getting harder to find a job. Career and leadership coach Phoebe Gavin talks to Wealth! about the current state of the job search.

Gavin points out that in the current environment, job searches are taking longer and there is limited scope for salary negotiations. The whole process has become significantly more time-consuming, “which leads to pessimism among job seekers.” She stresses that this trend is particularly evident in office-based jobs.

To overcome these challenges, Gavin recommends leveraging your professional network through industry associations, building your connections, improving your skills and actively working on your reputation. She advises: “Something like this can be a great opportunity for you to easily build new relationships and have a good base of contacts.”
