According to a doctor, one person died in an accident on Freedom Drive in Charlotte

The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Freedom Drive and Little Rock Road.

CHARLOTTE, NC — One person was killed in an accident on Freedom Drive in west Charlotte on Thursday, a medic confirmed.

The accident occurred around 1 p.m. near the intersection with Little Rock Road, not far from Toddville Road. A paramedic said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three of four lanes along Freedom Drive have been closed for the investigation. According to DriveNC, the crash is expected to cause delays until approximately 2:45 p.m. Motorists can use Mount Holly Road and Rozzelles Ferry Road as alternate routes in west Charlotte.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have not yet identified the victim and have not announced whether charges will be filed in connection with the accident. The cause of the accident is unclear.
