Cause of death announced for stuntman Tony McFarr – KIRO 7 News Seattle

The stuntman, who doubled for Chris Pratt in “Jurassic World” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” died in May, but the coroner has just announced the actor's cause of death.

Tony McFarr, 37, was found dead in his home near Orlando, Florida, on May 13.

The Orange County medical examiner said McFarr likely died of cardiac arrhythmia due to mitral valve regurgitation. Other factors, including alcohol poisoning and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), contributed to the death. The medical examiner ruled McFarr's death an accident, Deadline reported.

TMZ said the autopsy revealed he had a history of drinking alcohol.

McFarr began his career in 2011 as a stunt double on “Bones.” He then went on to do stunts on “Rock of Ages,” “Teen Wolf,” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.”

He also doubled as Pratt in 2015's Jurassic World and the two became friends afterward, with McFarr serving as the Marvel actor's stand-in in the other Jurassic World films.

According to US Weekly, he has also performed stunts for Brendan Fraser and Jon Hamm.

According to his IMDB profile, McFarr has also had several acting roles in “One Tree Hill,” “Burn Notice,” and “Army Wives.”
