New Hampshire man accused of stealing car and kidnapping two children in back seat – Boston 25 News

NASHUA, NH — A New Hampshire man who was free on bail after a previous arrest is accused of stealing an idling car outside an apartment complex and kidnapping two children who were in the back seat, police said.

Andrew Colvin, 42, of Nashua, was being held on $1,000 bail following his arrest Wednesday. He is charged with two counts of kidnapping (a Class B felony), theft by unauthorized taking (a Class A felony) and driving after a license is revoked or suspended, police said.

On Wednesday, patrol officers responded to a report of a car theft on Danforth Drive.

When officers arrived, a woman told police that her vehicle had been stolen and her two children were in the back seat.

The suspect, later identified as Colvin, was stopped by witnesses and taken out of the vehicle. He then fled. Officers found Colvin a short time later and arrested him.

Witnesses told police that Colvin got into the car, which was idling in the parking lot of an apartment complex, and then drove away with the two children in the back seat.

The two children remained unharmed in the incident.

The investigations are being carried out by criminal investigators from the Special Investigation Command.

At the time of the kidnapping, Colvin was out on bail following an earlier arrest for prowling, police said.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to call the Nashua Police Department Crime Line at 603-589-1665.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates as more information becomes available.
