Break-in in West Babylon

The Suffolk County Police Department and other police and fire agencies reported the following incidents this week:

MINI-BIKE DRIVER SERIOUSLY INJURED

Lindenhurst: Detectives with the Suffolk County Police Department's First Squad are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left a man riding a minibike seriously injured in Lindenhurst on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Police described the incident as follows: An adult male was riding a Coleman minibike southbound on South 1st Street when he entered the intersection of Reade Avenue and collided with a 2020 Nissan Murano driven eastbound by Gloria Cassidy around 4 p.m. The man, whose identity has not yet been determined by police, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious physical injuries. Cassidy, 62, of Lindenhurst was taken to the same hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to contact First Squad Detectives at 631-854-8152.

West Babylon: Detectives with Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Suffolk County Police First Squad are asking the public's help in identifying and locating a man who broke into a West Babylon business last month. Police said a man broke into Sake Asian, 76 Route 109, through a back door around 10:30 p.m. on July 9 and stole $3,060 in cash. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
