Shooting in Jackson County leads to chase and two arrests

BLACKMAN TWP., Michigan (WILX) – A shots fired incident led to a chase through Jackson County, officials said Friday.

Officials with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said two Lodise Bail Bonds employees attempted to arrest a suspect shortly after 3 a.m. Friday. Police said the suspect then began firing shots at their vehicle.

The incident led to a chase during which the suspect continued to fire at the bail bondsmen with a shotgun, according to police.

Blackman Township police joined the pursuit on Seymour Road near Mount Hope Road and continued for several miles through Waterloo and Glass Lake Township.

Officials said the chase ended on Coy Drive in Glass Lake Township, where two occupants of the car were arrested.
