Two people wanted for drive-by shooting in the Bronx

Police are searching for a trigger-happy offender and his driver who were allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting in the The Bronx Beginning of the month.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:59 a.m. on Sunday, August 11, outside a corner grocery store at 125 W. 165 St. in Highbridge.

According to police sources, the shooter was sitting in the passenger seat of a red Kia Soul when he pulled out his weapon and fired 14 shots into the street. Police have not yet confirmed a motive or provided any information on who or what the intended target was.

The suspects fled the scene before police officers arrived. 44th District arrived after receiving an alert from the NYPD's ShotSpotter system.

No injuries were reported in the shooting. The red Kia Soul used in the crime was last seen heading west on W. 165 Street toward University Avenue.

Police discovered twelve shell casings at the corner of W. 165 Street and Nelson Avenue, the other two were found at W. 165 Street and Woodycrest Avenue.

No arrests have been made yet, but police released photos of the suspects and their getaway vehicle on Thursday.

Both suspects are male. The driver of the car was last seen wearing a white shirt. The shooter was last seen wearing a gray shirt.

The investigation is still ongoing.
